Ben, his wife Donna and their four children farm at Cleardale, a 15,000 stock unit property in the Rakaia Gorge, Canterbury.

Ben is a member of the Molesworth Steering Committee, a Director of The New Zealand Merino Company and Chairs the Lincoln University Foundation. Through various roles including the Chair High Country Accord, he has led a planned coordinated response to government high country objectives which culminated in the running and funding of a successful ‘test case” vs the Crown on High Country Pastoral lease rentals. Ben holds a BCom (Ag) from Lincoln University and a MBA from University College Dublin.
