Bryan was raised on a Canterbury foothills property in the Sheffield district. A farm boy at heart his education and career has supported development and production in the agricultural sector.
After schooling in Christchurch and university study at Lincoln College, he started his career as a Farm Consultant with MAF in Ashburton and Lincoln. In the late 80's Bryan commenced a career in banking firstly with Rabobank where he had numerous executive roles, including MD Rabobank NZ, Head of Financial Services for Aust/NZ and Deputy Global Head of International Direct Banking.
In 2008 Bryan returned to New Zealand and took up the role of CBS Canterbury Chief Executive. This was a relatively small but progressive Building Society that was listed on the Alternative Exchange and originated from Ashburton. Bryan left the business after it was successfully merged into the now Heartland Bank.
Bryan is currently working as the General Manager of Customer Relationships for Ravensdown Ltd based in Christchurch, with responsibility for the field teams, customer centres, product managers, and the marketing, communications and digital teams.
Bryan is married to Jacqui, a registered nurse currently tutoring nursing students, and they have two adult daughters, Julianna who is married, living in Christchurch and works for Four Square in systems training, and Georgia who is a leadership graduate with Woolworths based in Sydney.
