As Director - Strategic Portfolio Management, Chris is responsible for the group strategy, M&A and capital programme functions for the co-operative.

Previously Chris has led the establishment and operations of Kotahi, a joint venture between Fonterra and Silver Fern Farms centred on supply chain collaboration to create efficiency and protect the international competitiveness of NZ Inc. Kotahi has grown rapidly since launching in 2011, managing today approximately 45% of all NZ containerised exports.

Chris first joined Fonterra in 2008 to spearhead a strategic review of the dairy co-operative’s ocean and land freight providers. This led him to an acting CEO role for land transport company, Dairy Transport Logistics Ltd (DTL), where he implemented a customer and service portfolio expansion plan and consolidated the company’s road and rail services. After successfully improving DTL’s performance, Chris moved back into Fonterra to develop growth businesses and realise supply chain efficiencies across Fonterra culminating in the formation of Kotahi.

Prior to joining Fonterra Chris spent 17 years in mobile and fixed wire communications industries in various sales, marketing and general management roles in NZ, the Middle East, Southern Africa, Western and Eastern Europe with Telecom NZ, AT&T and ultimately US multinational Brightpoint.
