Chief Executive

Peter is currently the Chief Executive of New Zealand Trade and Enterprise, New Zealand’s international business development agency. Prior to this, Peter spent 20 years in the engineering, manufacturing, and pulp and paper industries.

Previous roles have included human resources, operations, logistics and supply chain and General Manager of the Tasman paper mills in Kawerau. He has worked in a global role as Senior Vice President Norske Skog Paper International in Oslo, covering business in South America, Asia, Middle East, and Europe, and has worked in Sydney as Regional President Norske Skog Australasia.

Peter has a Masters degree in Social Sciences from Massey University and has undertaken additional study in law, marketing, strategy, accounting and finance at universities in New Zealand, Australia, the United Kingdom and Europe. Board roles have included the New Zealand Qualifications Authority and the Australian Pulp and Paper Innovation Council.

Pete lives in Wellington, NZ, with his wife Judith and three children.
