Roger has a background in corporate governance and commercial investment. Roger is the founder of “Aotearoa Inc Ltd” which specialises in global mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, deal flow and financial structuring. Aotearoa Inc operates throughout South-East Asia and China, the Americas and the Pacific executing commercial transactions in Infrastructure, agri-trade, energy, and tourism.
Over the past year and a half, Roger has served as Chief Advisor – (Commercial Partnerships and International Relations), to the Vice Chancellor of Lincoln University. He has over-sight of commercial negotiations and international partnership. Prior to this, Roger was the inaugural Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Te Arawa Group Holdings Ltd from 2009–2013. During this period Roger tripled the companies balance sheet and delivered a fixed dividend to shareholders that exceeded forecasts.
He has worked within the United Nations Forum on Climate Change in Europe, North Africa and the Americas from 2006–2009 as a contract negotiator for the government.
Roger was Chief negotiator for Te Arawa in the Waikato River Settlement and co-negotiator for the $500m Central North Island (CNI) Forestry Settlement.
Currently Roger is Deputy Chairman of the Waikato River Authority and Chairman of its Investment Committee which administers a $210m River Clean Up Fund. He is the Chairman of the Te Arawa River Iwi Trust and its Investment company and Chairs a number of Māori Trust farms in the Reporoa district.
