Event highlights:

Date: Sunday 25 August to Friday 30 August 2024

Duration: Welcome dinner + five days

Location: Singapore

Singapore is an inspirational location for our mahi, offering a glimpse into extraordinary agricultural circumstances amidst scarce land resources.

As we explore this dynamic city-state, we will delve into our two starting provocations that are especially relevant for New Zealand’s food and fibre sector:

1.Singapore as a snapshot of a resource-constrained future:

Discover how Aotearoa New Zealand can learn from Singapore's challenges and prepare for feeding and clothing more people on an increasingly populous planet.

2. Singapore as a crossroads and crucible of food cultures:

Explore how industry players carve a successful niche in this tight space, offering valuable insights into market dynamics and consumer behaviour.

Who should attend?

The 2024 Te Hono Capability and Insights Tour in Singapore aims to create a dynamic and diverse cohort that reflects the richness of perspectives within New Zealand's food and fibre sector.

In this spirit, we especially encourage applications from women and Māori leaders who bring unique insights and experiences to the table. We believe that a diverse group fosters innovation and enriches the learning experience for all participants.

We are seeking up to 20 emerging leaders who think differently and possess the following criteria:

  • Mindset: Curious, courageous, and committed to driving change in New Zealand’s food and fibre sector

  • Commercial and sector experience: Proven expertise in agribusiness with 12+ years' experience

  • Leadership and management experience: Strong leadership and management skills

  • Understanding of global markets and consumers: Exposure to overseas markets and trends

  • Big picture/strategic/future thinking: Visionary thinking that considers the long-term perspective.

Applicants will be selected based on their qualifications and commitment to the tour's objectives. Working together through kotahitanga, sharing our pan-sector knowledge, we will enable growth within the other.
